Star Trek Costumes: Parallel Nemesis of Star Wars Costumes
Is Star Trek better than Star Wars? This is certainly an inconclusive debate, isn't it? The same goes for Star Wars and Star Trek costumes. Both the franchises have their own huge fan base, and not one of them is willing to bow down to the other one. So, I'm honestly not gonna waste your time by trying to prove that one of the Star Wars or Star Trek costumes are better than the other or who would win a fight between The Enterprise and The Star Destroyer. As I've already said, this debate is inconclusive. I just want to talk about how Star Trek costumes are as good as the intricate Star Wars costumes. So without wasting any more of your valuable time, let's get right into it.
There's one thing both Star Wars and Star Trek costumes and movie lovers can inevitably agree on - There's so much more of Star Trek compared to Star Wars. With just 7 theatrically released movies, some cartoons, smack a couple of movies with Ewoks, and that literally concludes the list of the Star Wars franchise. Whereas the Star Trek franchise compromises of 12 theatrical movies, five TV series consisting of almost 30 seasons and an animated series. If you still have a doubt, you sure you can add the digits up to see which is more. I'm not at all saying 'more' is better, but it certainly isn't a bad thing. Now you can imagine how tortuous Star Trek is with such a vast number of movies, TV shows and animated series.
Just like the Star Trek costumes, the diversification among Star Trek characters is exhilarating as well. It is substantially a nexus among different political agendas spread among a wide range of alien species along with the humans of planet Earth, contemplating over what an ideal society should look like. Just like Star Wars, Star Trek also has character origins stories so interesting that they'll keep your eyes and mind pleased all the time. Yes, I know there is no Princess Leia in Star Trek, but don't be disappointed; they have Lieutenant Commander Nyota Uhura, who probably is the most strong female character throughout the series which makes her an epitome for an independent woman in the whole saga. She's beautiful, sexy, intelligent and everything you can probably imagine an independent woman should be like. So, ladies, Uhura's costume should be your first pick from our Star Trek costumes' collection.
"Sorry, Spock, can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am" I bet almost everyone has heard this quote by now. This is a very famous and indeed unforgettable dialogue of our legendary Captain James T. Kirk of the Starfleet, and there's no disproving how awesome he is. He has saved planet Earth many times, maintained peace with the Klingon empire, fought the Nazis, even managed to keep a balance of power between Federation and Romulan Empire. Pheww... I'm gonna let that sink in for a second. Done? Moving on - On his five-year mission as the captain of the U.S.S Enterprise, James T. Kirk proved himself to be an astonishing leader and led his crew to succeed again and again. It won't be fair to give all the credit to Captain Kirk because he always had help from all his crew, especially from Mr. Spock, of half Vulcan half Human species which is another option to choose from the Star Trek costumes. Not to forget the badass villains, and their evil looking costumes which are the perfect choice if you are just looking forward to being a bad guy.
Visually both of the movies are equally enticing, though; Consisting an immense number of symbolic costumes that have held their own for literally decades now. The movies have sure become more appealing to the eyes over time with the technological betterment that brought better graphics and visuals, but Star Wars and Star Trek costumes still have the same old tone. And why not? After all 'Old is gold'. That full sleeves jersey with the Starfleet logo on it has never really run out of fashion. We've been watching it since the first Star Trek TV series came out in 1966. Yes, this costume is actually that old and loved, till date. Thus, I think it would be fair to say that Star Trek costumes are always gonna give Star Wars costumes a run for their money.
