Parents with school age children understand the challenges of keeping up with classroom supply lists, and last minute requests for special projects and functions.  Writing utensils, color pencils and paper are among the popular last minute items requested throughout the year--all of which are readily available at local retailers.  However, the real challenge is finding a last minute costume for a school play or role playing classroom activity, especially if it is outside the Halloween season.  One lucky Hialeah mom discovered Wonder Costumes while she was caught in a bind and learned that her child would never be unprepared for any costumed school event again.

Dressing up in scary costumes and trick-or-treating on Halloween is an old tradition originated from Ireland.  Halloween itself is actually a medley of old traditions of the Celts and Roman Catholics.  On the Celtic side, it was tradition to celebrate the end of the summer days, which is why Halloween is now celebrated at the start of the fall. Autumn brings upon the death of the colorful summer—plants shed their blooms, animals go into hiding, days get shorter, nights longer and the temperatures drop—as nature transitions into the harsh winter.  Coinciding with this tradition was the Roman Catholic "All Hallows" day (translated to 'All Saints" day) in which people of faith paid tribute to those who passed the way.  This focus on the symbolism of both traditions (death) eventually converged both into one super holiday: Halloween.  This was not something that happened in unison between the Roman Catholics and Celts, it took many generations of both traditions beings passed down before they were simultaneously celebrated.  Then, additional customs were added to the Holiday as it kept being passed down like a message in a game of telephone.

It goes without saying that Thanksgiving is one of the year's most awaited holidays.  Families gather—often flying across the country—to celebrate together, one of the most cherished American traditions.  A big turkey feast enjoyed by then entire family, a little bit of Thanksgiving day football and interaction with loved ones; this is the recipe for a memorable night that keeps the tradition going year after year.  Why not make it more enjoyable with make few mood boosters after that debilitating dinner.  Being costume experts, the Wonder Costumes team has come up with a collection of popular items (really, they are popular, we base it on sales numbers) that very likely to put smiles on everyone and make great photo props to truly capture the moment.

Angel costumes are, surprisingly, among the most popular Halloween costumes of choice every year.  You may have seen a handful of trick-or-treaters around your neighborhood dressed in outfits that totally antagonize the spirit or Halloween, but now-a-days, Halloween is not all about spooky themes and gore. Angels give Halloween enthusiasts the opportunity to be something elegant and charming,  Women especially, like to dress up with the intention of mesmerizing everyone in sight, and angel outfit provide that opportunity.  Of course, angel costumes can have a naughty side.  Looking sexy is one of the reasons many party goers dress up for Halloween, so costume manufacturers have created special costumes with less fabric and more glam.  So while the streets during Halloween are crowded with innocent angels, you may notice leagues of Dark fallen angel costumes showing some skin.  If you plan on being an angel, you may want to consider your intentions before making a choice.  Not every angel may fit your purpose, so you really want to define your goal.

During Halloween, Greek costumes are highly appealing because of their elegant fabrics and styles. While most of these are plain, you can customize your costume any way you want. Grown ups and children alike love wearing Greek costumes because of their rich history. Long ago, the Greek people wore layered plain layered robes known as togas which is what we know consider the most basic of Greek outfits. There were no patterns on the fabric for the most part, however, Greek royalty wore similar robes with intricate patterns, especially during festivals and royal parties.

Police costumes are great for both adults and kids! Especially for a costume party or for Halloween. If you plan on going out and celebrating, then go ahead and get a police costume! Be careful though because there have been a few times people were mistaken for being a real police officer. Yes, that’s right! Many of the police costumes look extremely real.

Making our first radio appearance in the state of Pennsylvania on station WCHE 1520 AM back on October 6th, we spoke with hosts Doug Stirling and the passionate costume wearer Heather Bird about getting prepared for Halloween.

Every little boy loves Batman costumes. Not only that, but grown-ups also enjoy wearing costumes from the saga as well. Ever since Bruce Wayne stepped out to save the city, he has had thousands of people following him as a role model. Although the comics and movie came out years ago, there are still a lot of people who wear Batman costumes at theme parties and for Halloween.
