Harley Quinn’s Classic Jester Costume Revealed in Suicide Squad B-Roll Footage!

Harley Quinn’s classic jester costume is far from what we got to see in Suicide Squad, but B-roll footage of the latest DC film gave us a glimpse of what could have been. Seeing these classic superheroes and villains on-screen with a new and improved costume is simply amazing. But nothing can be more awesome than when we get a glimpse into the past of some of their original costumes. The whole point of DC and Marvel producing these films is to bring the comics to life on the big screen for long-time fans. The costumes is what everyone goes wild for, it’s what fans judge upon at first. There are classic costumes out there that are iconic but may only be meant to stay in the comics and just aren’t exactly the right costume to be portrayed by an actor in a film. I’m not trying to take away the significance of these costumes by saying this but the original comic book costumes are too cheesy to be on-screen. For example, back in the old days, Superman’s costume made it hard to take him serious at moments in films with the classic underwear outside of his pants look. Still have to point the fact that Brandon Routh and Christopher Reeve really rocked the look well. DC wanted to bring about a different tone of Superman with a new design to the costume and it being worn by Henry Cavill. With the release of Man of Steel, fans were hopeful with the future of DC films.
Since we’re on the topic of classic costumes, not too long ago, new footage was released of the upcoming and highly anticipated film Suicide Squad. The behind-the-scenes look gave fans more of an insight on what to expect. One quick scene that was shown in the footage was the scene where the squad is suiting up for their mission.
What was so significant about this scene was Harley Quinn picking up a jester costume.

Just a little reference to the original animated series where she made her first appearance, right? It actually may be a whole lot more than that. The way she held it to herself, it seems that she has sentimental value to the costume. Why would she though? The jester costume showing up probably isn’t anything random, there’s a possibility that when Harleen Quinzel became the notorious ‘Harley Quinn’ after fallling madly in love(literally) with the Joker, this may have been her first costume. After being released from prison and placed under command of Amanda Walker to do some good in this world, A.R.G.U.S. may have dug in the archives to retrieve the iconic Harley Quinn jester costume.

Another reason that this costume may have a decent amount of sentimental value is that if you look closely at the zipper pull, it’s a “J” which is mostly referring to the Joker. This could most definitely prove that Harley took this costume out for a ride with Mr. J. The big question as of now is if we’ll actually see her dressed up in the costume? In the B-Roll footage, Harley, after recalling some old memories, throws the jester costume to the side and continues searching. Of course, Harley is rocking a whole new look on-screen, but with the team being formed together as the “Suicide Squad,” we have to take a look at each of the member’s criminal past to know who they are even if we already do. From trailers and clips, the upcoming film is going to introduce each and every one of them. So hopefully, when we take a look into Harley’s past with the Joker, we’ll see a scene with her rocking this iconic costume. If we do, it’s going to make all of us DC fans go insane in theaters.
