What is the fascination with Alien costume masks?
As a society, we seem to have a very perplexing relationship with aliens.
While we certainly wouldn't want to bump into one on our way to the grocery store, we also don't seem to stop trying to prove they're out there, and we certainly don't seem to stop putting them in the various forms of entertainment we've got.  And if the sheer amount of alien costumes and masks on Halloween are anything to go by, I would say we have an affinity for dressing up as them too.

And while that affinity might seem to have subsided a little in the last few years since the whole superhero costume trend took off, but it might just be back this Halloween with Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant crashing in into theaters and letting loose the Xenomorphs to terrorize audiences again.
See, this whole scary alien costume trend was started by Ridley Scott himself, back in the 70s with Alien, and it was he who showed that aliens didn't have to be the cutesy ovoid creatures your kids' costumes made them look like, but legitimately terrifying beings.
The number of scary alien costumes sold in the post Alien-era would imply Scott succeeded, and today we take a fond look a some of the best alien costumes you can get right now, both the scary and the 'traditional' varieties.
