5 Classic Halloween Costumes That Come with A Twist
It's Fall, y'all. Time to bring out the warm colors and most importantly, the pumpkins. Halloween is such an amazing and fun time of the year. We've got the candy, the decorations, and the spooky spooks. Now, it's a right of passage to don a classic Halloween costume, but being generic is never fun. Luckily, we've got some fun twists on these All Hallows' Eve go-to's.
5. Gothic Cleopatra
Cle-Cle and Goddess Ammut have managed to make it into the 21st century. This outfit is perfect for those of you who love emulating powerful women, but don't want to be stuck in BCE. Cleopatra was known for her mind and beauty. She managed to be one of the strongest Egyptian rulers and was a part of the most notorious love triangles in history. Plus, how many days in the year can you dress up as Egyptian royalty and not get weird looks?
4. Interesting Police Officer
Impersonating a government official is a crime EXCEPT on Halloween. The shirt includes a removable "Officer Oliver Clothes off" name tag and that's the twist. Carry around a boom box and a few singles stuffed into your pocket to complete the look. Honestly, this costume could come in handy thanks to that baton. I had a friend who used theirs to kill a spider and it worked. He also proceeded to get all the ladies. I mean, nothing looks better than a man in uniform. Side note: handcuffing your beloved is not recommended.
3. Sexy Red Riding Hood
We've all been told the story of the little girl who went to go visit her Granny and found a wolf instead. However, what happened after? Well, I guess Red decided to add fur details to her outfit. This costume is great for sexy parties and lets people know you're not a damsel in distress. It adds a great edge to the classic "Little Red Riding Hood" character. It oozes confidence and strength. The wolf definitely picked the wrong old lady to devour.
2. Ballerina Witch
Witches are a Halloween classic, but the pointed hats and striped stockings can get old pretty quickly. Luckily, kids aren't the only ones creating multi-dimensional characters (cc. all the fairy princesses). Ballerinas usually have gaudy tutus, but this twist is a whole lot more stylish. You can sparkle on the dance floor and bewitch those around you.
1. Zombie Doctor
Zombies are all the rage thanks to The Walking Dead. The undead are even a part Halloween Horror Nights' theme this year. Zombie Doctor is different and it'll be sure to garner some attention. This set perfectly ties in a classic look with a more 2016 vibe. Plus, it's a lot more scarier than a plain doctor outfit.
