Halloween is full of frightening traditions backed by stories about death and mysticism; most of these stories are extremely creepy and can give you the chills if your belief is strong enough. Unfortunately, modern day access to information like the internet along with other media such as television and movies has desensitized most people when it comes to believing the eerie history of Halloween. However, there is still a form of mysticism that is able to draw the courage out of the bravest soul, it is known as Voodoo.

This religion is just like any other in that people who practice it have a set of moral values that revolve around beliefs in a higher power. In reality there is not much to be afraid of but the movie industry has done a tremendous job associating the religion with Satanism and it has had and impact on their audiences. The main reason Voodoo is actually terrifying to most people is because the association to Satanism is perceived as a reality unlike most Halloween folklore which is better known as fiction. The idea that there is an occult force out there that is actually capable of hurting you through dark magic and satanic rituals is enough to make witches, vampires and werewolves seem like a cute concept.

This Halloween, give others something to be truly fearful about. Dress up as a Voodoo priest and give a real spine chill to anyone that crosses your path; you will leave people guessing is your evil stare was just that or a ritual to place a curse upon them.
