The term “Ancient Egyptian” refers to the time period from 3500 BC to 2500 BC, and is split into three periods—the “Old Kingdom”, the “Middle Kingdom”, and the “New Kingdom”—and we’ve got costumes from every era!

Ancient Egyptians designed their clothes to keep them cool in the hot Egyptian sun, so their fashion was derived from the need to adapt to the temperatures of the arid desert. Females tended to wear an ankle length tight fitting dress called the Kalasiris. Shambling and wrapped up in linen, a mummy costume is a fantastic way to pay tribute to not only one of the most advanced of ancient civilizations but a classic Halloween favorite as well!
