Medusa Costumes: If You Go Greek, Go Dark!
Medusa costumes are certainly fun for Halloween. Medusa was one of the darkest beings in Greek Mythology; this makes for an inherently spooky Halloween Costume. Medusa Costumes come a dime a dozen, so it may not be enough to buy one and wear it--without some minor adjustments--and expect to get frightful, frozen stares. If you have a unique idea in mind, you are encouraged to alter a style that you purchase with all the "bells and whistles" to become a more frightening Medusa than Medusa herself. A little stitching and needle work can’t do any harm, but you will absolutely need to accessorize with some realistic Medusa hair accessories; you may need to get into some heavy duty DIY for that.
Many women love the Medusa outfit, not only because it is sexy but you can practically wear your hair in any style you’d like. For example, you could wear your hair up in a messy bun, curling your hair as you go. Another style to wear your hair is by adding curling rollers and let the hair fall to your shoulders. Top this off with the famous Medusa snake Tiara and you’re all set to go! This lovely tiara has 3 or more snakes with piercing eyes, and makes you look absolutely dangerous.
As for the costume, Medusa usually wears a long robe, with beautiful strands of silk fabric hanging from the arms. These costumes are highly similar to the Roman costumes, with the same fabrics and styles as they had. You can also wear another costume which includes a short mini-dress and a pair of tie up sandals which can be either golden or black. Medusa is usually seen wearing colors in black, dark green, red, and sometimes even purple. Feel free to pick up a costume with multi colors if you like, and always make sure the costume has loose fitting clothing to accentuate the overall look.
